i am reinstalling my 289 into my mustang and i didnt mark some of the wires. does anyone know what color the ignition wire is that goes to the + side of the coil? there are 2 wires one is red/white stripe and other is red/blue stripe. my next question is i have a new one wire alternator that was installed by someone else last year and i see 2 wires that are for the original altenator one is white and the other is black/yellow stripe which one of these is the power wire?

Red/green to the positive side of the coil. Red/white goes to the temperature sending unit.

Red/Light Green is correct---Generally in these situations the wires fall more or less in place---Wire lengths and connector configerations are designed to beerror proof during assembly
