Default crossmember: which way does it go!

I noticed a specific indent on the crossmember for my 66. Which way does it go? I'm thinking that the indent goes on the side with the powersteering (driver's side). Can someone confirm or deny this.

I think the indent was to clear the power steering end. See if that makes sense with a dry fit.

Yeah, the indent is on the driver's side and faces to the rear of the car. I have a blurry pitcher to prove it.
