I suppose I should have given attribution when I originally quoted it.

69-70 blocks were the strongest, heads were the same in 2v-4v but 4v engine had flat tops, valves were slightly bigger as well as intake ports. You can have those heads ported and install 194 160 valves and they will perform better than iron gt-40 heads, make sure and install screw in studs and guideplates as well.
add comp cams 268h cam and a perfromer rpm or stealth and it will put a big smile on your face. I used to run that combo with a holley projection tbi 670cfm. It ran great and pulled 19 mpg's on the hwy with a c-4.
You can run your ps, depending on water pump outlet you can use the 69 brackets or as I did adapt the 289 brackets to it using the 351w's adapter plates and a pass side wp.

Pay for however fast you want to go.
But if you can pick up a 69 351w complete with brackets and pulleys, that by itself can be worth a couple of hundred bucks.
1969 was the only year for the right hand waterpump on the 351 so it had some specific pieces. ie. alternator tree, that are getting tough to find in boneyards but they are repopped...for a price of course.
I spent a couple of months doing the pulley & bracket Easter egg hunt. If you have a chance to get the whole sheebang for that price, jump.

I checked it out and it only has the crank pulley[:@]. Does anyone know what brakets & pulleys I need? And where or from what car can I get them from?
Invest in some good aftermarket heads if you can afford it, otherwise bigger valves and a bit of porting on stock heads is ok, GT40 heads would be a bit better. But you can't beat a set of good aluminum heads.
And GM F bodies, good GAWD......ever tried to stick an engine in one of those things? It's like trying to shove a hippopotomus into a tuna can! I think GM built the cars around the engines with the F bodies.

You can get 400 hp with stock heads. 351W heads are the best Windsor heads besides aftermarkets, and can flow really well. Theyre a great choice fora cheap 289 or 302 build, and can yeild 350 hp out of a 302 without too much trouble.
