If you want to pull them off, a automotive machine shop will bead blast them and they will look like new again ( for a little while)

If you're going to replace them, may want to go to a header. I agree there are perks to exhaust mannies too, but headers just give off that rumble that make me wanna have sex with something.

If that is electrical tape wrapped around a plug wire that is holding up what looks to be the AC wire, it needs to come off, and you need to route the AC wire somewhere else. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your exhaust manifolds. Just hit them with a wire brush, then some coarse steel wool. They are made out of cast iron and there is nothing you can do to stop the rust except maybe use some POR 15, then hit that with a high temp black paint.

lol waffles. yeah man im gettin that crap off mine too. mine arnt too pretty either but what you want to do is get some engine cleaner and take that sucker down to a drive in do it your self power wash and spray it with that can of cleaner and let it set then power wash it and itll knock off all that surface rust and clean off the motor. (MAKE SURE TO COVER ALL SPARK PLUG AND DISTRIBUTER) itll look bettter tho. and then get you some ford blue and paint if you want to take them off. I would suggest some quality headers. They cost about 150-160 for a decent pair on summitracing.com. If you intrested let me kno. Im going through the same stage with my car. Its my first car also.
sure is neat tho to work on them
