Default Calling 393 strokerz

Just bought a complete 1969 351w and was planning to do a master rebuild, but I rememberd someone saying that I can make a 393 really cheap. I know a 393 stroker can be done by simply putting in 302 pistons and a different crank.
-What kind of crank do I need?
-What kind of machine work needs to be done?

fullauto (a member here) can get you stoker kits for really cheap. but your right on the 393, they are cheap to do its just that the stroke/rod length is a crappy combination

+1,,, part of building an effective stroker is getting as long a rod as practical in the engine,,

I spent a long time doing engine math to select my own components and to select and buy them separately, in the end it was much cheaper to go with a kit, and lots easier as well. Remember balance!!!, get a kit and buy the kit balanced...

FYI even balanced kits need to be balanced. they are usually only balanced to within a factory accepted spec, which is not what we think of when we think "balanced"

Buying a stroker kit is way out of my budget. Im just wondering if a 393(just adding 302 pistons and a diffrent crank) would be "better" than a master rebuild?
