They might as well just delete this whole god damn pissing match of a thread. He wasn't nice to his "bosses" or to other "employees" and he got "fired". The same would happen at a regular job. There's nothing we can do about itand apparently Soaring doesn't want to have anything to do with it, so let the topic die.

btw, norm, what happened is that some good guys opened a new, competing mustang site, but some of their childish members took it upon themselves to come to this site causing problems, spamming on the behalf of that site...so it was filtered. some people just dont have anything better to do with their time than be trolls. it must be nice.

so norm, youre concerned that JamesW, or whoever else joins the MF staff to moderate this section will begin insulting members who decide to keep the stock seats, wheels, or engine components? i would be surprised, to say the least, although that had become common from glen.
I don't expect that at all. What I'm looking at is the more subtle change that could come from a smaller influence from a knowledgeable keep-it-original point of view. Just your choice or words when you answer something even when sticking 100% to topic can convey an unwritten personal opinion. As can a reluctance to respond to certain topics even though they're outside your own experience and realm of expertise and you don't feel qualified to comment. And since moderators represent forum management, their attitudes whether spoken or not do tend to carry more weight than do, say, mine. Not officially of course, but it's there. Kind of like sitting in the jury box during voir dire and responding to the query as to whether you give greater weight to law enforcement personnel testimony (to hang onto the same analogy). Most people say they don't, but everybody knows it's almost always a different story when it comes right down to it. It's human nature.

This certainly isn't intended as poking a stick at JamesW or anybody else. And unless I've quietly gone senile over the last couple of months, JamesW shouldn't think I would either.

6T8 - "taking a break" - that's what I was getting at by "letting the dust settle". All around might be a good idea.

This is taking a while, and I know there have been a few posts in the meantime. So I'll hit 'submit' now and see where this has gone . . .

hahahaha...what a suprise. Can't say I am shocked.

oh yea, and, no, this is not about what you said, it is about what I said. Nice to see nothing has changed.

So, although most the members of the classic section were able to accept Glen's brash style because we valued his knowledge and passion for older mustangs, the other staff/moderators (most of which don't even seem to own a mustang, let alone a classic)were not able to. It's said this forum is a business, so looks likeol' Glen just didn't fit into that mold anymore. Personally I viewed the hiring of James as a fair way to represent the restomod croud, but without Glen & his passion for stock/original cars, there goes the balance. I guess it's tougher to sell many of thesponsorers products if owner's are keeping things stock.

Last comment. Pretty freaking lame of all the mods topost on Soaring's "goodbye" thread to tell everone their reasons for firing him, especially those who had some dirt to share. Maybe one of you could have stated anyone who wants to know more could pm you and leave it at that. Or start another thread after the dust settles. Not too cool.

This forum just lost a key component. It will not be the same.

while I CAN'T say anything good about glen..I'm not going to bash him.....what I am going to say is if a new mod is selected they need to have either a mustang or a big interest in them..we don't need another camaro mod as it has and does cause flair ups... we don't need a mod aka school teacher type..like before. A mod should also contribute to the ford family..just my 2 cents

i think that ive said that in this thread now, 13 or 14 times...and ive not gotten a single PM from anyone, except for people thanking me for removing glens powers.

also, i am the only non-mustang owning member of the staff right now, with the exceptin of jd1969 who just sold his.

so, i have to ask, as there have been continued requests to close this thread...since people dont seem to care for my obviously strict means of doing things, ill leave it upto the group...is there a second to lock this thread?
