As always, Soaring's knowledge and input are welcome in the Section. He's always quick to help the newbies and support those trying to figure things out.

I hope you will stay and continue to be a contributing member.
If I had an opinion that you kind of "set things up" to meet the end of Glen's removal bythe posting ofyour thread welcoming "Mr. EFI" to the forum, would it be acceptable for me to say so,,, hypothetically of course....

Things were beginning tochill out before that thread........ in case no one noticed......
Funny... I never even thought about putting those two events together. Corky (MrClassicEFI) is a regular on several of the other classic boards and whom I know personally. I was glad to see him join the group and provide more insight into the efi world. We were building our cars about the same time and I learned a lot from him, He did some very slick things to his fastback. The 'take a position on the line' was directed at the ongoing debate over efi's.... not about people.

My final comment on this subject: I hold no ill will against Soaring and I have always respected his position on classic mustangs. What I did not appreciate was his personal attacks on members for their views. Debate is healthy...but ridicule is over the top. But it wasn't even that which forced his Mod position to be revoked. Moderators are referees. They are traffic cops. They are janitors. They are not censors and they do not own the content of the section.

I, for one, hope Glen stays. I'm a complete newbie and his knowledge, as well response to everyone topic/question I have posed, cannot be replaced. Glen, thank you so much for your help, advice and guidance. DO NOT leave.

god i hope i dont get in trouble for posting things said in the mod section, but here goes....

these are parts of posts made recently by glen, in a discussion started by staff asking him to not crap on other moderators in open forums

"I didn/t pick JamesW as my assistant. I do not like the guy and I have seen his car up close. I am also a volunteer. Get the hell out of my face."

and

"Come into my world, and I will teach you something, Otherwise, shut the **** up."

that is the attitude the admins here got fed up with dealing with. that is also the way conversations have gone between glen and the staff here for as long as i have been a moderator and have had access to that section.

again, admins please dont bust my ***** for posting that stuff but maybe it will help people understand why its happening.
Alright. I finally read thru most of this thread and I wanted to add something here. I've been gone for some time and no longer have my classic stang or any other stang for that matter so I don't care if there are reprecussions for my statement here.

Look at what Glen said right there. Now, go into OT and takea REAL good look around. The **** he said here is tame compared to the **** flying around in OT. Now, don't get me wrong, I am in no way defending the guy or trying to make a case to keep him here. First of all, what is done is done and second of all. I've seen him act very poorly towards members, especially female members and caused a few members with great insight to resign from the forums. I've also had my spats with the guy and think he can take things quite far a lot of the time.

I digress. He was offered the spot as a moderator by the people who started this forum and pay for all the server space and other fees regarding running a forum and upkeep therein. He should never have spoken that way towards these people here who were kind enough to give him such a hugh stake in this forum and such "powers" here.

Personally, I could give a **** less if Gary Colman or Richard Symmons were the mods here, so I'm not gonna lose any sleep over him being "demoted". You all can continue to cry over him leaving, but there was no reason for his attitude, neither in the open forums or in the mod room. He said a lot of **** about resto-modders, but that's not the reason they asked him to leave. He's caused a bit of trouble in this section and more than we'll know behind closed doors. I haven't been here very long, but I learned early, from a few spats I had with other members, that NONE of the mods/admin are out to get anyone. They aren't gonna ban someone just because. ROTM has a laundry list of people he's banned and I've been here for a lot of them. They all got seriously out of line and continued to do **** they were asked not to, so they got the axe.

Grow up and get over it. Complaining about him being removed as a mod is not gonna change a damn thing. I'm sure the new mod is a good caliber guy if the admin here made him a mod, so deal with it.

I'll be the first to admit that Glen got my goat a few times. I just discounted it as being a typical Texan. They can't help it you know, it's in the water down there. The decision's been made and the fat lady has sung. Hopefully Glen will stick around , if he doesn't... that's his call. It won't change how I do things. Dean

I like the way this thread was setup like you moderators actually care.
What makes you think we don't care? I'm extremely disappointed that it had to come to this. It didn't have to, Glen made the choice by refusing to cooperate. He was given the choice to follow the rules to moderate by, or step down. Apparently he can't follow the same rule that 27 other moderators seem to have no problem with.

Keep in mind, Glen has not been banned, he has only had the ability to edit and remove threads and posts disabled. Everything else is the same.

Glen, I would put you up against anybody in the "Mustang Knowledge" department. I have learned alot from you and sincerely hope you stick around to help the rest of us. I would be curious if most of the poters could meet face to face and see how nicer they would be in person! Its easy to talk trash behind a computer screen!
