a stock aod is crap you might wanna build it up a little before using it.but once its built up some it takes a beating and laughs. it should fit ford used the aod in alot cars and some trucks.

Beware on the flexplate. The early C4 164 tooth unit will bolt up but the offset is such that you will have little support on the converter snout into the crank pilot. I am assuming you are using th 69 302 and in that case you need a 28.2 oz imbalance flexplate. The unit you want is for 351w AOD applications. The Ford part number is E0AZ-6375-A

I think the some of the larger cars like the mark 8 have a longer tailshaft on the AOD instead of the short one that the mustang has.
