suspension and steering
theres many different rack and pinion set ups out there check the faq for most of them. and forget maier look at http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/index.html
It is all about bump-steer and turning radius. Some of the units on the market reduce turning radius and increase bump-steer, so be careful. I am not familiar with most of the options never having installed them, but I have installed the Unisteer unit. I went unisteer because I wanted manual and they are the only manual rac available that I am aware of. Getting it to work smoothly took some doing but once installed I love the set up.
I have a Unisteer too. Using a manual rack instead of a power rack can mean a difference of $1000. Yes the Unisteer is more of a kit, than a straight bolt in. Not really complicated at all, especiallnot, with a couple of online helpers. I do experience a small reduction of turning radius, but my wife can handle the car in a tight parking lot with ease.
Other wise, as I understand it, Stay away from Flaming River, while Randal's Rack customers seem to be very satisfied.

James, I dont want to be handing out bad tech, but its my understanding the FR Power rack, is hugely expensive yet still has issues, can you shed a little light?

doesn't seem to be much that could go wrong with it, but maybe....
As easy as the car turns now, I have a hard time thinking that power steering would provide a whole lot of benefit though. The 66 has power nothing...
