Default FMX Rebuild

I'm looking to rebuild my FMX transmission over the winter. The only people I found that do it are these guys:

http://www.broaderperformance.com/fm..._transmiss.htm. But $900 seems a bit pricey for a rebuild even for a performance rebuild. It's expecially rough cause it's so far from me so I'll have to ship my transmission to them. What do you guys think? Do you know of any good places to have my FMX rebuilt? Do you have any experience dealing with Broader Performance?

Also, do you know of a good slap/ratchet shifter that will go with the FMX?

I had my FMX rebuilt at a simple local transmission shop. I don't see why you would have to ship it to get it done by someone, locals can do it too.

I had Jay at Broader build up mine. $900 does not seem bad for the guy building his own custom servo, having the stock bands and clutches re-lined with kevlar friction material, doing some custom work on the valve body, building it up and dyno testing it.

Shipping is kind of a turn off, I'm in California and it was about $140 each way. He may have a core that he would be willing to sell you for less than the cost of shipping your transmission to him. Jay seems to know his stuff and he was a lot of help getting mine setup.

Well i didn't realize this place you're sending it to is doing crazy work to it. Do you just need a rebuild or a kick *** power holding one. If you want the latter, I'd build up a C4 or C6 because they are lighter....

Also FMX's are known as a bulletproof transmission and can hold up to a lot. Mine just needed a rebuild, gears were slipping. So if a simple rebuild is what you need just find a local place.
