Opinions Please!! (Interior)
I think they are pretty sharp! I really like ^ his idea about black with brushed or polished alum inserts. Would be eye catching. Do you have any pics of them installed? Would love to see them.
Wow, thanks for the comments! I'm sure there are some that hate them (it's nice of them to be polite- but some good criticism goes a long way). I've been making several versions because I really enjoy making them. They are a pain in the *** to do, but I'm still interested in the design element and the making aspect. The minimal aesthetic is important to the design. It's easy to go too far. I'm currently trying out a set with the period correct grain and color of vinyl with a newer design. Perhaps I can start selling these things to pay for school!
Again, thanks!
Again, thanks!
Riverside,
My originals are junk, you'd have a customer in me if you made them affordable.
As for some criticism, I think the items look great themselves, but it doesnt really match the door that well. But Im also unsure as to how it would look better...I dunno, I guess it's just the textured fabric against smooth steel..

i think one with a galloping pony under the tweed would be wicked
R66,
I use to be a grad student at UCR (class 2003), and I still have strong ties to the area. Hell, I am rebuilding my 68 at a buddies house ( I am in SD). Anyway, the panels look great. Show us how you to the customization process.

I'm curious how you did the panels as well. I have read a few books on upholstry and might have to make my own panels since I want to put power windows and door poppers and I haven't found stock panels that dont have the holes for the window and door handles.
i like them they are different but not flashy. making door panels is easy basicly use thin plywood glue foam to it and design you want cut out of the foam might have to layer the foam depending your design then glue whatever you want over it from tweed to leather. or can go the drag race look sheet alum or stainless and roll a couple beads in it so they are weak and keep there shape.
