Default Good Deal?????

OK guys (and girls), I have found a '66 that I really like. It is light blue with dark blue interior. It is a Sprint 200 with auto, air, manual steering and brakes. It is virtually rust free (couple of quarter size spots) but needs paint, which is OK cause I don't like the color anyway. The interior is complete but shows its age. It comes with a pro built 302 with zero hours on it and a pro built C4 also with zero hours. I don't have the engine specs yet, but it is supposed to be a 300-340 horse engine.

The guy wants $6,900 (he's a very old friend of the family). Deal or no deal???

Sounds high to me. Even if the engine & tranny are very nice the costs involved to upgrade brakes, suspension and drivetrain (rearend, etc.) would put this project higher than I would want to spend. Just my 2-cents.

Seems high for a six, even with the 302.Is the engine already in the car?

I don't have any pictures, sorry. The engine and transmission are not in the car. What I'm excited about on this car is the fact that no rust repair is needed. The body is straight as an arrow, never even been wrecked. And it's always been garage kept.

I know this is gonna be next to impossible to answer, but about how much would you pay for it (assuming you were looking for a rust free car)?

for a six banger that you said "It is virtually rust free (couple of quarter size spots)"

I personaly would not want to get my hands on a 6 banger unless you had some immidiate plans or unless that is your style of liking .

I can take a guess though , You can easily find 6's anywhere with absolutely no rust straight bodies and decent interiors for 2-3k tops .

I had a guy locally selling a 66 stang with a 302 V8 for only 4200 nice paintjob perfect interior .

Its not really a rush to buy a stang , Though it may seem like it cuz you want it that bad .

But if you wait and look around i can guarantee you that you will find something better alot cheaper.

look on www. craigslist . com and you will find a range of cars .

the following description is the car i just bought last week for 6,000.00

1969 Ford Mustang Coupe

I have had this car for many years and been working on it as I had time and or the patience. It started out with a factory 302 V-8motor and automatic C4 transmission with drum brakes all the way around. It now has the following upgrades and or modifications:
· Fuel injected 5.0 bored 30 over out of a 93 mustang, serpentine belt and under drive pulleys
· 4 core radiator with electric fan
· T-5 transmission out of same 93 mustang with cable clutch linkage
· New fuel tank with electric fuel pump
· New starter, battery, alternator
· New steering gear box (flaming river brand)
· Front sway bar upgraded to 1 1/8 inch diameter
· Rear sway bar added along with heavy duty rear spring shackles
· New shocks and springs all the way around
· New ball joints, tie rod ends with a fresh alignment
· Disc brakes on all four by Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation
· 16 inch wheels and tires (205/55R16)
· Flow master exhaust system

This car needs to have a windshield installed; no I do not have the old one. There are some other minor adjustments on the window tracks that need to be done. I do have new: carpet, steering wheel, door panels, passenger seat cover (the other three covers are installed) that need to be installed.

This a real solid fast running car I was building it for me to drive not to sell so I did not take the cheapest way out. I don’t have the motivation (money) or patience to complete it. I do start it and drive it around every week for approximately the past year the motivation has not returned so it is time to sell.

This car did have factory A/C but it does not work now, it needs a condenser and hoses the compressor is on the motor also of the 93 mustang.

I am only asking 6500
