I'm very happy with the 9.5 out back, I love the look, and I am running a 1 inch spacer in the rear. Disc brake conversion from Mustang Steve up front so the 8 up front didn't need a spacer.

Sorry restomod its been a while and I don't remember exactly where I got them, I just know I got all four set up on rubber for 1200.

Also I prefer chrome/polished wheels on anything, but if my car was black I would consider going with black wheels, simply because I really like blacked out cars, if any of you have seen Rob & Big on MTV I love how all their cars are "Murdered Out" as they put it. Everything black. Thats my opinion.

ya i like how they call it "murdered out" too [8D] ya anyways I am running a 9" rear out back, does that change the backspacing at all... im not sure if the stock 7" is the same length as the 9"... anyone know if its different, which im almost sure it is.

Hmm I'm not sure, I'm running an 8" rear so I don't really know the difference, sorry. Maybe someone will be able to chime in and help us out.

Where's Andrew?

Well I had a fairly bad rub, and had to shackle up the rear a bit still rubs a little when I hit a real rough spot, but a lot better. I'm not sure if you'll be able to run as wide unless you end up with a shallow "lip" if you get what I'm saying. You'll need to take some measurements and figure out how much space you're going to have to fit wheels and tires back there.

heres alittle info,
theres companies out there that sell the bullitt wheels with a classic car fitting backspacing of 4.5 on a 17x8 inch wheel these should bolt up to any 65-70 mustang, these.. http://customwheelsmarket.com/cwm-top-1119-78650b.html

now if you want to run a wider wheel in the rear you can go with a 17x9 but its going to have a 5.95 backspacing. now on my 69 coupe the wheels bolts on and doesnt rub BUT its sunk in all the way in the wheel well, so it looks goofy. but all you need is a wheel spacer and it will look moe correct. i would guess about 3.4-1" spacer for the rear for MY car and yours is prolly in the same neighborhood

and yes generally the "lip" gets deeper at the wheel get wider due to the fact that the stock mustang wheels are sunk in so much that they add width to the outside to make them wider causeing the dish
