How does this sound? Basically open headers or does it somewhat split into the muffler so you get a deeper loud sound? i have a 351c so it would be cool to have these half way open to get a better sound.

Well you could always get electric cut outs so when you want you have open headers or just normal through the exhaust. I'll try to find the website for em.

Here it is, my buddy has them on his 01 SS camaro and damn they sound good.

Well since cut outs are 'basically' illegal on street cars in 50 states...I doubt you pass inspection if you have any type of copentant non-friend inspection shop actually performing inspections.

cutouts on a stock engine will sound like a tractor with a broken exhaust manifold at anything below about 4000rpm. Thats just my opinion of course, but i had longtubes un mufflered through side exhaust on a very mild 351W and it sounded like crap until the revs were right up the range.

Well if you live in California you don't have to get your classic inspected so it really doesn't matter. I'll ask my buddy if he has had any issues passing inspection or if he changes it out before hand.
