in ireland you can't seem to buy motor cleaner/degreaser. So I went for a cleaner that is supposed to do the wheels (alloy wheel cleaner).
worked like a charm for me and is cheap bucks.

I picked up a bottle of Krud Cutter from target,, it smells just like simple green though,, and its been working wonders under my hood.. Being that I have been sitting on the A frame arm for the last couple of nights cleaning and prepping the entire bay for paint.. I also used some oven cleaner when i cleaned up my water pump,, that worked well but stank to high heavens..

Aircraft remover works well as a parts cleaner, but it takes the paint too.....

The way we used to clean cars in the shop was to put a rag in the carb throat and pull the dist cap off and put a rag in there (replace the cap) and then put a bag on the coil, the carb and the dist.. If you can get away with it, paint thinner makes a good degreaser. (dirt field)

Castrol SuperClean > all Diluted 3/1or 2/1 should bemore than enough for engine degreasing. Only catch is that you'll go into coughing fits if you breathe it. It's kinda toxic...lol.
