Default new interior questions

So I've just taken the jump and have bought a 66 mustang with one thing it needing is a new interior. How hard is it to install one of these yourself? Any tips or ideas would be appreciated. The main reason I bought the car is because I'm taking an autobody repair technician class at the local technical schools and I needed an old car. Anyway, thanks!

P.S. I'm looking at ones from Nat. Parts Depot, how do you like yours if you have one or what have you heard about them? Thanks!

I'm in the process of doing it myself. New dash, new seats and buns, new door panels, new kick panelsand dyeing carpet. So far, it has been very easy, but I havent done the front seats yet, which I hear are a pain.

I am in the middle of it myself. I have purchased everything from NPD (stock) and so far I have been happy. I have done the front seats already and they were a little challenging, but just be careful not to tear the new fabric. Its hard reconnecting the back to the base at first. I also upgraded to premium cushions so that may have made them fit tighter.

Yes I did. Thats good to hear for me atleast. The backs were so bad, but like I said take your time and you will there. I wouldnt work my way around in a circle rather approach it like you were installing a manifold install. Do a little on one side, do a little on the other and work your way out and double/triple check each clip you make that everything lines up.

Interesting fact: The plastic moulding on the inside of the seat (Base to back) was stamped as a 64. I do have an early production 65 fastback. I also found the original tags in the seats with the part # stamped on them. Lets say the burlap and cushions were disgusting

Good information everyone, that makes me feel less tentative about doing this myself. I'm going to be replacing all that stuff too...the car was originally blue with blue interior, but the guy I bought it from dyed it all black and painted the car red...(sigh)...I really like the blue and am going to be bringing it back to it's former glory.
