Default Hydraulic throwout bearings

I have two styles of hydraulic throwout bearings. One is a QuarterMaster(R) and the other is a Tilton. A lot of Nascar builders use Tilton so that should say something. But the QuarterMaster is nothing to sneeze at either. The QuarterMaster is much easier to install as it attaches to the clutch are ball while the Tilton has to be bolted on after the bellhousing is drilled. I'm leaning toward the QuarterMaster for ease of installation. I have three rebuilt kits per unit and all the shims for the Tilton. I think they will both perform equally for my application. There are a few of you who may have some experience with either one of these. Although I do realize this is not an everyday application. If you have any experience with these units, can you tell me if there are any drawbacks-leaks, failures? I have never owned a mustang with a toploader so I'm going all out with this one.

I went outside to check dimensions on my toploader. The front bearing retainer's diameter is to large for either of my throwout bearings! Needless to say, the bearings will not work. Looks like I'll be doing the slave cylinder, clutch fork and throwout bearing. Oh well.

Don't feel bad. Those work fine. At least with the setup your gonna go with, if the throw out goes bad, it won't have a chance to tear the line and play helicopter in your bellhousing.

I'm running a McLeod setup with mine, it doesn't bolt on the front of the Toploader, it slips over the input shaft and just presses snug against the front bearing retainer. It has a sleeve inside that you can screw in and out to adjust the initial clutch setting. It works fine, but you have to pull the trans when you need to change the TOB

Really take pics then... I've not seen a hydraulic setup used on a toploader style push clutch setup....

I hope you don't want me to take pics, everything is together and I'd like to keep it that way if I can [8D]
