Default cooling system flush

All the do it yourself flushes explain tapping into the heater hose. I don't have a heater core, so what is the best way to flush my entire system including engine. Is there a simple way using garden hose only? Recently did a chemical flush (instructions: drain, add chemical, run engine to circulate, drain) which did not result in clean fluid.

If you don't have a heater core, then you just have a hose that loops from the waterpump up to the intake manifold. just cut that line and splice in the fitting.
