Default 68 fastback brake conversion

I was told that you can put 80-83 cougar disc brakes into the 68 mustang. is this true?? Im trying to decide to convert it or not. I drove a 65 pontiac bonneville in high school that had the drum brakes and thought it usually stopped ok but seemed that the braking on either side was always uneven. Any advice?

id go with http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html the cobra brakes are pbr same thing baer brakes really are. my 68 was a 4 wheel drums none powered now its powered 4 wheel disc wilwood its night and day.if you want to drive it alot if do front disc maybe rear if not get the larger rear drums like shelby used.theres alot of disc swaps out there the mustangsteve is the best bang for the buck to me.

I've never heard of that swap but I suppose it's possible. I know you can swap the older Maverick's, Comets, Cougars, Fairlanes etc and the most common, the late 70's Granada, I've never heard of anything newer than that. I mean with enough fabrication and work you could probably put Ferrari brakes a Mustang if you wanted to.

Since you haven't gotten much by way of response I'm guessing this isn't a common swap... You might be better off to go with a more common swap like the Granada, it's easy and well documented or go for an aftermarket kit. On the other hand, what the hell, go for it! and document it for the rest of us.
