Default 1968 mustang

Hey guys I have a 68' mustang and i want to throw on some 18' rims. My question to you all out there are.... how wide of a rim can i fit on the rear and front. Secondly what would be the widest sit of tires that i would managed to fit on the car considering the fact that i do not want any rubbing to occure. Any comments would be apprecaited.

im not sure about the width for a '68, but make sure you get the right backspacing for your "new" wheels.

heres a wheel chart http://www.dodgestang.com/Tire%20Fit...ide%2067-8.pdf i never go over a 16 unless to clear the brakes.dont forget youll need to change your rear end gear and get bigger brakes if you use a rim that big.if not youll throw off the speedo and take longer to stop since theres more rotaing mass.

Ya, I'd never go over 16 to..[sm=smiley3.gif]. 18's will fit fine, you just have to stay with the same overall diameter. The front with can be 7.5" without any problems, a 8"will fit but you have to grind some off the upper control arm. As for the back, I run a 9" wide rim and 275 tire, no problems. As for the " rotating mass", my bigger rims and tires are lighter then my 15" rims and tires, and I thought that with the more air in the 15" tires that they would be lighter

Check the top of the forum in "topic" FAQ section and there is a good chart to follow..
