Default throttle travel?

Hey all,
I was wondering just how far the gas pedal should open up the carb throttle lever. The way it is set now, when I depress the pedal to the floor, the throttle lever on the carb only goes about half or less of it's total available travel. Wouldn't you want the pedal to completely open up the throttle on the carb (autolite 4100 1.08)?

You should be able to max out carb travel with the accelerator pedal. Sounds like yours needs adjusting.

You may want to look at your trans kickdown linkage for misadjustment while you're at it.

I'll take a look at the kickdown too. Currently my carb linkage rod is threaded in all the way so I will have to cut some more threads down the rod and cut off the end that sticks out too far. So when I do this, the pedal in will sit higher as well right since it will have more travel?

Thanks guys. I ended up just bending the rod a little to make it shorter and also made sure the kickdown was setup properly too.
