Fastback Audio
Howdy,
So here's the issue - I'm not a big fan of slats on the rear window of my 1970 Fastback, but now that they're off, the magnified glare from the sun has burned out my speakers, which were installed as such before I bought the car (see photo). I'm going to upgrade to better 6X9 speakers, but I'm afraid of getting the same problem down the road. Do I really need to install slats again, or is there a better solution?
Fastback owners, what do you have going for audio?
(I know, I know, I should be perfectly content with the sound of my engine, but hey, on those long drives...)

+1 on reinstalling the louvers, however if you are totally against that, how about getting some home speaker cover fabric and putting a layer over your cones before you put the stock plastic (metal?) speaker covers on. That may help a bit.
Good luck!
