Default Drag radials....

Whats the biggest size drag radial that will fit up under a 67 coupe??? The rear is lowered, so it has to fit inside the wheel well completely. Anybody know?

I have no doubt a 275 40 17 will fit.

It depends on the wheel size you have. Don't worry about big with a DR though, your car doesn't have near enough power to overcome even a small DR if your suspension is set up right. There are guys running 7's(whichtakesOVER 1,000hp)on 10" wide(about 255mm wide) DR's. Good suspension and something like M/T ET streets and you'll hook like mad even with a small DR.

As far as the numbers, like 275/40/17...The first number is the section width of the tire in mm's(how wide from sidewall to sidewall, the maximum width of the tire at it's widest point), the second number is the profile, expressed as a % of the cross section width, so a 40 is 40% of 275, or about 110mm from the edge of the rim to the tire surface, and the last number is your rim diameter, 15's, 16's, 17's etc. All you need is something like a 255/60/15 or thereabouts, M/T ET streets seem to work very well for most people. Avoid the Nittos unless you want a longer lasting DR, but they're not as soft a compound, so they don't hook as well. If you plan on doing a tire swap at the track, you might want to look into slicks as well. Either way though, the local track will prolly want you to have a driveshaft safety loop. And if you don't have subframe connectors, get some, otherwise you're gonna do some twisting to that body with hard launches

Oh, and have you had that thing to the track yet? You know what it runs on street tires?

Haven't gone to the track yet.... I want traction bars and DR's first. And I need to hook up some kind of overflow container.
