Default Convert 65 to a Fastback

Hey all, first post since finding out we are picking up a free 65 or 66. Plan is to convert it to a FastBack with a late model drive train.

Any ideas on what we are looking at? Going to need the roof line and rear glass (or plexi) and all that for sure, just wondering if this has been attempted.
Thanks!
-Jason

We were thinking chop the top off the car and weld on a roof line (whether Ford or aftermarket) of a fastback to it.
I know this sounds fairly outrageous but we didn't want to pass up a free Mustang and we love the fastback look.

Here's how one guy did it. http://web.comporium.net/~ronniek/11.html
If it were me I think the coupe wouldent have been such a nice car. Though thats one way to get rid of red Mustangs LOL

Save money, time and your sanity: sell it and buy a fastback.

There was an article sometime back about a guy doing that to his coupe. You have to change the roof quarter panels , your trunk lid , and redo the whole interior so you need to look at the big picture is it worth it , or is it easier and cheaper to just buy a 65 Fastback .

Anything can be done with money but it will be costly, if you want to go ahead start by doing a part inventory that you will need with costs then see if it still feasible.
