ignition removal without key
Hi,
I have a 66 coupe parts car I am striping and am trying to pull out the ignition cyclinder but I dont have the key, so I can't do the key with a paperclip trick. Any ideas on how to pull the sucker out.
Thanks

Don't know of any tricks without a key, but if all else fails, drill it out. Check the depth periodically so that you don't go past the end of the lock cylinder.
Well if you don't have a key you're going to have to buy a new one anyway, so I don't see too much of a problem with having to drill it out, or something of that sort.
yep i'm pretty sure I paid for it my wallet felt quite a bit lighter after I loaded it on the trailer. Course I probably didn't really need a spare parts car but for 600 bucks I really couldn't pass it up. The car was in a accident so the rear end was hammered and so is the drivers fender and door. However it had a full pony interior and a decent 302/c4 combo with a 9in rear end. The kids parents wanted to punish him for racing so they sold it dirt cheap. I'm thinking about possibly running it past my body guy(my cousin
) and fixing up for my niece. I'll be posting pics if I decide to do that.

oh and the reason the key was gone is because the kid tried to run on foot through a field after he crashed while racing and so the keys are somewhere in a 1 mile stretch of farmland wherever he dropped them.
the lock of the car is 40 years old. By now probably any key will fit.
I bought a new set of locks and the new key even fitted the old lock ... maybe you're lucky as well.
