66 GT Clone
Just a survey.
Is it worth the return and time to do a clone of a 66 gt coupe. And if so does anyone have a link or reference to where the specific options and packages for that year can be located??
Thanks

If you're thinking of cloning it and then selling it as a clone, you're not going to make that much more money off of it, if any. I don't think it'd be worth doing it unless you're keeping the car and you really like that GT look.
well there isnt that much stuff you would need to do to clone it. rally pac is probably the most expensive part you buy for a clone. around $450 +/- a few. as a matter of fact, i have a 66 gt and they guy that had it before me, or a couple owners back, REMOVED all the gt stuff!! i was like wtf so i have a gt with no fog lamps, no rally pac, no gt badges. the only thing it still had that was gt was the gas cap and gt trumpets. we didnt get any paper work so we had to find the clues on the car that determined whether it was a gt or not. ie, brakes, hole in frame, hole in radiator support for fog lamps...that kinda stuff. and yeah, like fast65 said, cloning is not worth it unless your keeping it cause you wont make any money if its a c code.
I really wanted ot make one just for the looks. mine is an original luxury with the emberglo interior and paint. i just thought it would be cool to have one with all of the GT stuff as well. nothing cooler than the exhaust through the rear.
My GT is a bit brighter than Emberglo, but it would give you a pretty good idea of what it might look like. Emberglo was one of the colors I was considering painting mine before I went with Daytona Sunset. I love to just switch on my fogs and parking lights and just cruise at dusk, it's really enjoyable.
