i think you guys have convinced me otherwise, plus i looked on craigs list for a 302 in my area and there seems to be alot and at a reasonable price,
right now i am planing on doing most if not all the work myself, my dad rebuilt a 67 mustang and a 69 camaro and i have alot of friends that do work on cars, i also have a professional painter that would do a great paint job for cheap " friend discount".
i also have a classic mustang parts supplier in my area so i think i could get alot of help, but i still need to save where i can. i am not looking at making a show car, just a good reliable street car with a little getup.

right now the only big parti have is a
ford 9 in.
i have along way to go, i will post some pics of the car this weekend when i pick it up.

The very idea is sacrilegious and heresy.
Now that I got that out of the way, I will get off my high pony and welcome you to the forum.

yeah the work far outweighs the swap.... you would be regreting it a week or two in to trying to make it fit... not to mention you would have to rplace all of ur suspention to hold the weight..... i see ur in texas.. i have a 302 mexican block for sell... i have the crank, heads and original 4brl manifold also... and most of the parts to rebuildt the block..... if ur intrested im in socal... not toooo far

PUTTING A CHEVY IN A 32 FORD OR A T-BUCKET IS OKAY BUT NOT A MUSTANG! I AGREE IT WOULD BE SACRELIGIOUS.

I would just drive it with the 6 and enjoy the gas saving's. Save up money and do it right once. When you think you have enough money to build your motor save up a little more. Im building a 347 now and believe me that when it comes to HP and $$ ratio ford is higher than chevy. For instance a fluid dampr harmonic balancerfor a chevy 200 -300 same one for ford 375 - 450. Be comitted to Ford or sell and buy a chevy.
