rack and pinion
has anyone converted to a rack and pinion system on their classic stang before? me and my dad are looking into upgrading to rack and pinion. what are the pros and cons about it? and what is its overall purpose? what is supposed to do?
Rack and pinion is a more positive steering system, that's less prone to wear. That being said, the stock style worm and recirculating ball works very well too. Most sloppy steering in old Mustangs is because of worn out or poorly maintained parts. R&P will cost some money, and if you get one make sure you get one that won't have interferance problems with long tube headers if you plan on using them.
