One Mystery Solved
My '66 Convertible was restored/redone in the early 70's. The car was painted red, dash black from its original Nightmist Blue and Standard Parchment interior. Tonight I was out piddling around with some more disassembly and found a piece of the original dashpad stuck under some clips in the dash (the dashpad was removed before I took ownership of the car). The piece of vinyl dashpad I found is blue, somewhat of a surprise to me. The metal part of the dash was obviously originally parchment and the previous owner painted the metal dash and dashpad black. Now I am left to wonder if the carpet and / or convertible top were possibly blue as well - or black, or parchment. I'm hoping someone here has seen an original car in this color combination and can give a direction to go from here. Thanks in advance!
From the Marti website:
"We are the priveleged licensee (contract #5012) to Ford Motor Company's entire production database for the 1967-1979 model years."
I don't guess this is available for my '66.....

I'd believe that, given as many as they made from 64.5-66 they probably didn't have time for recordkeeping. I don't think Ford was counting on the popularity of the Mustang.
