Default posi traction??

I have a 70 mach 1 351 cleveland with a FMX tranmission and posi rear end. When I pull out slow with the wheels turned the entire car feels like it has shifted to the side. It feels like someone has just pushed the body over. What is the cause and what is the cure?

Thanks - Ron

Try a fluid change first, if that doesn't work, you'll probably have to rebuild the rear end and take out some of the clutches. Too many will make it act like a full locker rear end (both wheels rotate at the same speed in turns)

+1 on the gear oil, and don't forget the friction modifier additive.

+1 on the fluid change. Also after you do that, you may try doing about 30 or 40 figure 8's and see if that loosens it up any.

Use the royal purple. It already has the additive. Does it make any noises when you turn?

Go to the Chevey dealer and get some friction modifier or get rid of the posi and install a Ford traction lok unit.
