Update. I have the whole front suspension, steering etc out. I went with the disc brake upgrade from www.discbrakeswap.com and the front suspension upgrade from www.laurelmountainmustang.com. I ordered the 1" sway bar, 1" lowering coils and the KYBgas shocksfrom www.cjponyparts.com . I will then replace the rest of the steering parts with the new suspension and brakes in. I did all of this for less than $1k (all of the work was done by me so no labor cost). I will update you as soon as it is all installed as to how it went. I am still waiting on the coil springs and the sway bar as they are on back order but will begin installing the other new components tomorrow. Then, its time for the rear end. I am going to upgrade to a ford 9" with 28 spline axles and 3.00 gears. I have found a guy locally that does a lot of work with ford 9" rears and it sounds like I should be able to get a nice setup from him. I am going to stay drum brakes in the back and replace the leaf springs. Then its wheels and tires. Once all that is complete, i will have a nice car ready to drop a healthy 351w into. My original plan was to install the motor first and do the rest as the money freed up but this seems like a more logical way to go about it. I will let you know how the install goes on the front end.
