Weird problem ????
I have a 69 mustang with a 390bb (few mods) and when i fire her up in the morning its like waking up a sleeping giant....VERY grumpy lol. After helping her for the first 30 sec or so, i let her warm up while i smoke a ciggerette....Approx.5 min. After backing her out of the garage, driving approx 1/8 mileto the first stop sign, I come to a complete stop. Heres my concern; After i come to a complete stop, i let off the brake and depress the acc. pedal only for it to sit there and rev like its in neutral.Afterreving her up to 2600, she will take off.Thishappens EVERY morning and onlyon that first stop. Now i KNOW its in drive while its sitting there and it doesnt make any sound when it "decides" to go. Any ideas ?
- I have a c6 auto and it shifts as smooth as a babys butt.
Really weird! Thanks for ANY help guys !

i had the same problem in a F100 with a 390 and C6, i had it rebuilt and it worked fine after that wtihout any problems.....might not be what you want to hear but... thats the way life goes
Thanks for the input but that isnt the problem. There is only 2,000 miles on the engine. My only idea is the 15w40 oil im using but I honestly have no clue. Seems as if no one does. Thanks anyway.
The issue lies with the worn seals in the trans not being fully warmed up.A re-seal job at minimum is probably in order. I think you're looking at about 350-500 to do it.
Sounds like tranny problems.... Make sure you have enough fluid in that puppy too.. It sounds almost as if the converter was drained and once there was enough fluid in it it finally picked up and started moving.. Thats weird,, I dont even know if that can happen..
Im going to check the fluid tomorrow (its hard to tell on the dipstick i have) but im sure ill get a good idea. Maybe some Lucas Oil aswell? After i let her warm up, im going to rev her a few timeswhile IN gear and seewhat happens. It just started outta nowhere..pretty wierd, huh?
Thanks guys!

its the tranny definately...i have the same problem with my c5....you will need a complete rebuild on the tranny....i hate to say that, but thats what its gonna take. a couple of ?'s to ask when you go have it checked is check the servo's, the filter, rings/bands.....those tended to break in the c5's and c6's quite often.
I hope your wrong
. I KNOW the problem lies with the tranny but i really dont think it needs a rebuild. It was rebuilt last March, resealed last month, and has been babied ever since. Come to think about my luck, it may very well need a rebuild [&:]. Im going to check it tomorrow, ill let you guys know what happens.
Thanks,
