Default Disc brake swap

Can anyone tell me which of the Ford or Mercury cars make good donors for the disc brake swap? I cant find a good list anywhere...some say the Granada, some the Fairlane, others the Monarch. Which is the best, and can parts be swapped between the many different doners.....Granada and Fairlane........Fairlane and Monarch........Granada and Monarch?

I got a 9in. rear end out of a Lincoln Versailles, which already has disk brakes. It takes a little modification but you get disk brakes and a stronger rear end. For the front I got four piston Kelsey-Hayes disk brakes kit from a place called ABS in Orange, CA for $700.00

I have harvested a couple from Granada's. I had to change the tie rod ends as the taper is different. As far as the rear, the Lincoln Versalles will work. Also I have modified a couple of rear sets off 2000 Ford Explorers to fit the 9" housings.

Granadas and Monarchs are the same thing. One is Ford and one is Mercury.

Here's some info:

Recommend going with Dennis' CSRP setup. Finding Granadas/Monarch/Versailles sets in wrecking yards are haystack needles, will cost you almost as Dennis' set once you've replaced all the calipers, hoses, rotors, etc... and his setup has been corrected for the bumpsteer condition.

Now if you have 5 lug drums on the front... I'd like to talk buying them from you...

I did the Granda swap.

'76 spindles and '80 discs.
Even with buying new calipers, tie rod ends, bearings, rotors turned, and pads the whole cost was under $400
Make sure you get the dust shields.

Omg! That's awesome! Pity that wasn't available way back when I did my swap.
However, I just might look into that for the rear!

Steve's answer is great for those going with the 17" wheels. It really fits nice.
