horn doesn't work?
So my horn seems to be all connected properly and there is a clicking noise when I push it so it seems to be making the connection at the steering wheel. I took off the center part and looked and honeslty don't know what I"m looking for but all seemed ok. Any ideas on why a horn might not work? I've never had one not work before
Could be several things...however, may help if you told us what year stang you have. My 67 coupe has two contacts with springs which rub on the backplate of the steering wheel hub. After years of use, the contact or springs may be worn. However, check for voltage at the horn contact itself to see if you have any juice getting to the horn. If voltage, then horn may be bad,,,if no voltage, might be a ground problem, loose wiring, or bad contacts at the steering wheel hub...just my novice guess at this point...
Is the clicking noise coming from the horn or the steering wheel hub?

You may need to adjust them, the back of each horn has a screw that closes the circuit to ground, adjusting the screw changes tension on the contact inside the horn and chages the voltage through the horn. They need a certain voltage range to work correctly, and this may be required if you recently made any changes to the voltage of your system(ie internally regulated alternator with a higher voltage, this is why I had to adjust mine). If you get someone to just sit on the horn while you adjust the screws you can set it so it's freakin loud. There's also an explanation of how to set them in the shop manual using a voltmeter I think
You can also test each horn by running a hot to the horn terminal. I'd do that first. Otherwise you will be troubleshooting the system to find it was a bad horn.
