seatbelt installation
recently purchased 1968 pony. Seatbelts are installed in rear seat, but not in front. Found loose belts & retractors in trunk, and there are shoulder straps mounted for both front seats, above rear side windows.
Need some help with installation of belts for front seats. I don't readily see any threaded mounting holes. For startes, an I correct in assuming the carpet will have to come up to reveal mounting locations?

Hi,
I just finished welding in floor pans in my 69 Mach 1 and I had to remove the seat belts. If you have an idea where they mount you can widen the hole in the carpet with an awl. If you ca't find them then jack up the car and look in the tunnel next to the drive shaft. You will see two plates( one on each side of the tunnel) with threaded holes. These are your mounting points. The other thing you can do is take the seats and carpet out and locate them from the inside. I would rather find them in the tunnel and push a nail through the threaded hole and then cut a slit on the inside(carpet) to accommodate the bolts. Good Luck HSB
