What is your best combo of making a power packed engine for the budget enthusiast ?

351 and down! ...

no forced induction or chargers!

 

What kind of budget? A good exhaust system, performer mandifold and a Holley 600 along with a pertronix would do wonders. 3.50-3.70 gears help too. But you can do the gears later and thats not what you asked.

351w stroked to a 408 with a set of 205cc heads AFR theres all your cash and your putting down 450-550 hp and a **** load of torque

I think my next build is gonna be a 351W prolly off a Sportsman block, Scat superlight forged crank, Mahle short compression height pistons(either for a 331 or 347 stroker) with custom length ultra-light rods from Manley, Scat etc. CHI 3V 185 heads/intake, custom hyd roller cam, Pro systems carb plus the other obligatory goodies. Then spray another 200 or so on top of the 550ish that it will make Hardly a $3,000 build though
