Default is it possible

is it possible to drill holes in a 4 lug rear drum to make it a 5 lug....im asking because i found a 5 lug front disk connversion kit for my 65 i6 and i dnt want 5lug front 4lug rear and i also notice that all the awsum rims are 5lug

Erik, that's a valid question for someone new to cars. Think about what you are asking, and perhaps draw it out on paper. You are asking to change a pattern with the lugs as points, from a square to a star. Try drawing that out on paper and see if any of the points intersect.

Actually the answer is yes. A good machinist can weld the holes shut on your existing axles and re-drill them for five lugs. I had it done to the front and rear of a 79 Fox body car. It's not cheap.

The early Mustang II conversion kits for streetrods were commonly sold with rotors that were "slugged and drilled"...

This being possible, it should be entirely possible to do the same in the back... If there is a will there is a way...

the drums are not the real problem, the real problem is getting axles with 5 studs for a 7.5 rearend

yes its a 7.5 if you got a v8 in the car youll break the rear end easy.get a 8 inch from here http://www.perogie.com/Rears.htm
