Default 302, 351 or a 390 engine ?

Ive currently purchased a 68 fastback project car with the suspension completed. Now its on to the engine. My goal is to make this thing haul *** as ihave already completedmy street-friendly 69 coupe.

Which engine you guys think would be more optimal? Money is not a factor as i dont plan on having this thing done anytime soon. I plan to take it slow and enjoy every bit of it. Im looking forward to your responses.

I looked up the tag on the fastback and it matched...why a 390 ? Just curious.

Mine was supposed to be a 390.. It's not worth it, performance wise.. If you're trying to stay original, (I don't even know if yours IS an s-code?) then give'r if you want, but if you want performance, I agree with the 351 stroked.. Or blown.. I'd say blown, myself. Hell, 5.0 supercharged.. how much horsepower are you looking for?

What do you mean "supposed to be" a 390? WAS it a 390 and it wasnt worth it? Or were you "jipped" and it wasnt worth it? i dont understand what your saying.

390 and then punch it out to a 427, no replacement for displacement
