crank pulley swap
I just bought a nice fluid damper for my 67 289 coupe. Trouble is, it's got a 4 hole pulley setup. Can I do a direct swap of a 2 belt 4 bolt pulleyfrom a 1970-73 302 type?
If it helps, the original 67
is a C5AE-6312-A
and the 302 pulley is a D3AE-6312-B.
My concern is that the depth from the face that contacts the balancer to the pulley grooves is the same.

The balancer I got is drilled for either 3 or 4 bolt pulleys, but it sounds as if you already have possession of your new balancer,so I guess you already know it is not setup this way!
I had a stock pulley from a 70 351, it would have worked with the right spacer, so I will assume you would need a spacer as well.
I used the .938 spacer with the underdrive (supposed to be direct replacement) pulleys I purchased, and everything lined up perfectly. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=skuThe picture for this shows it drilled for a double pattern, but the spacer was only drilled for a single pattern, only 4 holes not 8....
