You won't see any power gains, if that's what you're after. A Duraspark is going to be a little more reliable and you'll be able to open your plug gap up a little bit more for a more efficient burn, but you'll have to weigh that against cost.

I love my MSD because of the easily adjustable centrifugal advance and the ease of upgrade to a box ignition unit.

I vote for the Dizzy II solution. Keep it running withfactory Ford parts if you want reliability.

Ford reliability is tough to beat. I have installed Dizzy IIs in most of my classic Mustangs and trucks and they havenever let me down. Starts every time and is dead nuts reliable and provides all the spark necessary to power my setup. (see signature)

If yougo withthe Pertronix solution, you better buy two. One to install and one to keep in the glovebox as a spare. Ask me how I learned the necessity of that little trick.

Dizzy II is refering to the Ford Duraspark II setup. It is basically an improvement on the initial Ford Electronic Ignition setup, the Duraspark I. Stay away from the Duraspark I. Serious reliability issues. Go instead with the mid-late 70's Duraspark II setup. Google it. You will find a better definition and what all it entails. Pretty straight forward wiring. Nothing magic about it.

Get the Duraspark box with the white plug. This box will retard the timing 15degreesfor easierstartup. It is a really nicefeatureif you run a lot of inital advance.
