no power steering again
well im on my second control valve. at first it felt a little stiff then i checked the adjustment and i adjusted it to factory specs, power steering again but only for 60 or 70 miles then it goes out completely. the first one did this, worked for 80 - 100 miles then nothing. as soon as i put the second rebuilt one on it worked pretty good but not 100% so i checked the adjustment and found it to tight, i torqued it to 8 lbs then backed it off 1/4 turn, it felt perfect, but only for 50-60 miles, now im back to manual steering. im wondering if the rebuilder checker is getting them from is rebuilding them or is it that there sitting on the shelf fo so long there tried out inside. i can't figure it out, all i know is after i swap out with another one it works great for awhile. the original one never gave me any problems, its just that the pivot ball area was loose and if i knew what i know now, i would of rebuilt it instead of going through this mess. anyone else have this kind of problem with replacing the control valve. i don't know what to do but to get another one from checker and wait for it to go out.
ive thought about it, but my wife drives the car, don't think she would go for it. if i did then some one must make a pulley to take the place ot the power steering pulley so i could adjust the water pump belt.
