wonder if the clip somehow fell off and is laying in the oil pan? Woudl rather not pull the oil pan off but woudl hate to ruin the motor if the cli is laying dwon in there. Whta do you guys think?
The chances of that clip ruining your oil pump are probably in the neighborhood of about 5,000 to 1 odds, even if this little clip were to ruin your pump you would just need to drop the pan and change the pump, even if the little clip passed through the pick-up screen and cleared the pump, I do not see it getting past your filter, no way... (the pick-up screen would need to be broken for anything at all to happen.)

That clip wouldnt get past the screen.. not unless it was damaged that bad.. But then to get into the rotor of the pump and out again.. .. I dont think so..

Not sure what you meant by order, but usually your local parts stores have them and are fairly inexpensive.

did you know? the shaft is the same size as screwdriver tips? i used a screwdriver with removable tips and took the tip out of the screwdriver and ised it to set the shaft in place and center it to drop the dizzy back in. idk what this would help you with but i thought it was kinda cool cause i was just trying to find something to center up the shaft to drop my dizzy in and found out that the bits are the exact same size as the shaft.
