I'm looking at a stroker setup for mine also. So I'm very interested in what you all have to say.
Here's the boss block:

I couldn't find a 302\5.0L SVO reference, I did find the 351 SVO crate reference. I recall a friend building his engine in the mid 90's and he kept saying GT-40 short block, but I believe he meant the heads.

On a stock block you COULD run 600ish hp if it's a 302(the shorter stroke reduces stress on the blocks main webs). Your tune would have to be dead on though for it to last, and even then it prolly will faill at some point. It's been done before, but for a street car and the added measure of reliability you're gonna want a FRPP/Dart/World block. The first time you get some bad gas on a 600hp engine with a stock 302 block.....boom
Nah, remember what happened to 77Stang or whatever his name was... blew the crap out of a 302 block at like 400 hp. I wouldn't push it cuz thats gonna be one expensive pile of scrap metal. Get a dart block, thats the only thing I would trust to a stroked, forced induction 302 based setup.
There was someone in the 5.0 forum who just recently posted blowing his 302 up. It was a stock block with somewhere in the neighborhood of 550rwhp. Ran for about a year and a half before it failed, on the street and on the track. There are guys that are running 10's and I've heard even 9's in some cases on the stock shortblocks. It CAN be done, but if you want reliability do it with an aftermarket block. Blowing up your daily driver sucks. Again, those are 3" stroke 302s, I doubt you could get that out of a 347, the longer stroke dramatically increases stress on the main webs. Either a Boss 302 block, or a Dart(the Boss is cheaper and will still hold a crapload of power). Or the R series blocks from Ford, or the Sportsman blocks, like a 351 4 bolt etc.
As most of you know i work for TandL engines, last year we built a 347with blower for a customer it dynoed over 500hp with less then 5lbs of bost and was the snappest motor I ever saw. It was done with a stock block. The only way you can put a blower or NOS on these engines is to lower the compression ratio. The roller 347s we build put out around 430hp and 444lbs of torque. I say around because they do very slightly depending on the whether when they are dynoed. But I wouldn't go too much over 500hp on a stock block like everyone else has said.
