Come to think about it, i could use one of those. My c6 crys in protest on the highway. If i had a 4th or AOD for her to grab onto.......LOOK OUT!

Actually, the AOD gear train was based on the FMX.
Those numbers look pretty OK to me. I've got 3.08s in my 69, once I get it on the road I'll post up some MPG information.

With the AOD production ending 1993, all are 14 or more years old. The 4R70W is amore modern AOD with all the shortcomings fixed and a wide ratio gear set. The $550 a Baumannator TCS & harness cost, neede fora 4R70W/AODE, is paid back by not needing Tranny upgrades or a TV valve.
And the extra performance the wide ratio gear set gives is killer!
Check a V-6, yes V-6, 1998 to 2002 Mustang as the perfect donor. Trannys from a Mod Motor 4.6 wont fit, bell housings dont match.

It's based more on the old FMX actually with a six pinion planetary gear set.

I have the TCS and love it. I've been snatching 96 and up V6 4Rs for around $200
I hate seeing these guys waste time with the old AOD
