Default AOD or Gear vendors

My next project that im saving for is a new tranny.I just know mine is getting tired and i think it would be pointless to build this motor or another with more power and then blow out the tranny so.....Which should i save for rebuilt c4 with gear vendors setup on it or AOD...Money aside what is the best for lets say btwn 400-500 hp..I know theres more parts to be thought of ie)rear end and what not but strictly talking tranny.Which is the best route not concerning money.

Maybe look into a streetfighter? I have heard good things but haven't had one myself, I'm used to manuals.

Well i guess i shouldve said these are my choices cuz i want to run at leas 3.80 without revving the motor to high for too long, hence gear vendors or aod.

aod its cheaper and easier. the gear vendor unit isnt cheap i paid less for a lentech aode also only gear vender owner i know had one on a f350 diesel and used it to tow a big box trailer with a drag car in it. 2 and half years the gear vendor unit broke.no one told him you have to put the gear vendor in neutral when going down hill.if you dont mind a manual valve body means you have to shift it a aod/aode can be built to hold over 1000hp.

the aode has a small ecu a computer and some tiny things both are great.another thing about geting a gear vendors is youll have to make a tranny crossmember and shorten the driveshaft.

You need a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for an AODE, E is for Electric. Also they look the same but the internals are different. I read a little about the gear vendor and I don't like it. Another lever to select the next set of gearing, sounds like another complication and another thing to go wrong. And the AOD is cheap and can be built to be bulletproof for less than that gear vendor being $2200.

Another option is the 4r70w, similar to the AOD/AODE but supposed to be beefier and cheaper (basically the same, with a lot of improvements and a wide ratio gearset: lower first and second gears), but also needs an ecu like the AODE.

IF you already have a "Built" C-4 installed, is about the only reason to use a Gearvendors set up.
I'm really pleased to see so many guys aware of the AODE/4R70W's(Almost exactly the same tranny)and that they are the better alternative to an old AOD.
It sems I'm beginning to post the same info on several threads, so heres a link to the most recent.
