I dont know about what to do with the vaccum lines but I do know that the secondaries are mechanically linked straight to your throttle linkage so when you punch the gas your last two barrels are instantly flipped open instead of having to wait for the lag that occurs using a vaccum system.

The vacuum line to the trans is for the modulator on an automatic. There will be no vacuum for secondaries since it is a "mechanical secondaries" carb.

That is what I thought, so my next question is when i punch the gas it is getting to much gas and bogging, how do I eliminate this, I guess turn down the secondary??

Do not attempt to adjust the secondaries.... They should be set as they should be right now. The bogging down is due to another issue,,, possibly the accelerator pump on the secondarys is not working right. When you open the throttle while looking down the carb, (with the engine not running), you should be able to see gas shoot from the primaries first, and then the secondaries as the throttle is pulled all the way back...

Depends on how you're pulling your secondaries in. If you're opening it up at low RPM, stop it! The mechanical secondaries do take a little more driver intervention and control, you cannot just mash the pedal at 1500 RPM and expect it to work just right. A little experimentation will tell you when you can put your foot to the floor.

That said, you may have your secondary accelerator pump mis-adjusted. Does it run fine after the initial bog?

This is precicely why a vac secondary carby is a better choice for a street car. Especially with an auto.

Yeah some lag is good.

My Carter AFB has a counter weighted baffle above the mechanical secondary ventures. You can mash on the gas right at idle and still works pretty good as air flow through the seconds increases it opens up the baffle letting in more air. Great idea
