I have switched to Shell Rotella T. The new oils do not have the higher rate of additives that lube a flat tappet cam.Rotella still has them. There is a rise in lobe failure with the older cars. check HotRod.com and see if the article is still there.

Rotella is also what i use, but if i remember right, valvoline and dexron also have a good one. I think there labeled "for offroad use only".
The oil like from crude oil has had the additves changed to meet the higher warrenty requirements on the emissions. The ones they have cut way back on fowl the converter. I guess that could be why the manufactures have gone to roller lifters maybe................
That's why my big-blocks last so long...I don't believe the myths. Synthetics outperform every conventional oil in every way, shape, and form. Oil doesn't know how large your engine is, only the material the engine is made from and the oil passage clearances.

Myabe on paper, but if you use synthetics in a big block, your asking for trouble.
