I'll be glad I have an aftermarket shifter soon as it shifts properly. The grinding does not attract the ladies, makes the other guys laugh. Its always fun to see if it comes out of first.

Thanks colorado, I did confirm that the linkage in my trunk is the original linkage. If I can't figure out this linkage I may put the original back on. Hopefully the original is in good condition if not I may contact you about the linkage. I didn't check yet, I hope I did manage to adust it right. I'll be test driving it tomorrow because it was blocked in the garage and I was burnt out on the issue because I have been trying to figure it out for the past couple days. I just needed to take a slight break for the moment, I'm sure we have all had that time were we had to walk away. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

The original linkage isn't likely to work with the aftermarket shifter

Well I hope I don't have to use it, and the little tweaks I did to it today will make it drive alright. Tightened up the loose things and hopefully lined up the right things. I'm not sure if the shifter is stock or not, but it looked like any other mustang shifter I have ever seen. Oh well I just hope everything works out.

Sure as heck doesn't look like a factory shifter to me. The handle may, but theactual shifterunder the car doesn't. Where does that even bolt to the tranny? It looks like it bolts to the front of the tailshaft, kinda like a Fairlane tranny, rather than the rear of the tailshaft. Any chance you can get a shot from farther away?

If it doesn't work out today when I drive it I'm going to jack it up again and I'll get you another picture.

Yes! It shifts like a dream, as long as your dream only has three gears and stiff as hell clutch. Thanks for the help Starfury and Cogtx. And Starfury I'm sure I'll be jacking it up again soon because I'm going to need to adjust the brakes soon and I'll get you a picture then.

Congrats And yeah, I'd be interested in that pic, if it's not much trouble.

Alright I jacked it up today and tried to get some better pictures of the linkage for you. I didn't have that much room to work with but I tried to get it in sections. Also use the picture I already posted.
