Mine were welded in. You can clamp/bolt them on but there will be alot of vibration so I suggest the welding.

a glaspack is awesome, amazing sound because it doesnt muffle the sound of your exhaust it just quiets it a bit, so you get that amazing rumble

Here's a link to a boatload of Mustangs with glasspacks. None of them actually convey just how LOUD they really are for some reason.

They are an acquired taste, but if you want it loud they are the way to go. I love them;

On other people's cars.

Glasspacked Mustangs

i've got glasspacks on my Mach 1. they are VERY loud. too loud for me. like remicks said, they're cool at first, but they get annoying fast. i'm looking to replace them very soon.

How loud a glasspack is will depend a lot on the diameter of the exhaust pipe. Too small and your exhaust will cackle, too big and they have no muffling ability.

Glasspacks are simply a type of muffler, so they would replace whatever is already there. Weld or clamp.

FYI, not all glasspacks are Cherry Bombs and not all Cherry Bombs are glass packs. Cherry Bomb also makes some real nice turbo style mufflers.

For the 'best' sound, go with a flow-through muffler design. Glasspacks are the extreme, but many have at least a slight bend to aid in the muffling of the sound when the exhaust passes through.

Just stick those pipes clean to the rear of the car, then they wont be so loud.... for the people in the car anyway...

i dont have glasspacks, but my friends 4 banger talon has a glass pack, and its almost as loud as my car so take a guess on that one, you should be able to find a glass pack at any junkyard, for brand new ones i saw cherry bomb glass packs in o'reill's for like 150/ ea, my guess on why they are called that it they allow the exhaust to flow as smooth as glass..

maybe 15$-30 not 150$

I think they sound ratty, like the V8 equivalent of a ricer "farting bumblebee" exhaust.

But I have to admit to having them on my car when I was a teenager. [8D]
