i dont have glasspacks, but my friends 4 banger talon has a glass pack, and its almost as loud as my car so take a guess on that one, you should be able to find a glass pack at any junkyard, for brand new ones i saw cherry bomb glass packs in o'reill's for like 150/ ea, my guess on why they are called that it they allow the exhaust to flow as smooth as glass..

I have glass packs and they are plunty loud!!! A glass pack or cheery bomb is a streight through tube with lots of holes in inner tube about like a cheese grator. Outside those holes is a layer of fiberglass inselation hense the name "glass pack", and outside that is the outside skin. The best things about them is thet they sound good, performe well and are cheep:

I mentioned glasspacks becasue 1970coupe wanted something more aggresive sounding and you really can't get more aggresive than glasspacks. They are the same as cherry bombs and you can get them for dirt cheap. I had them on my 76 F150 with a 400M and there wasn't anything louder than that on the road. When I would idle through a parking lot I would set off every car alarm. And yes they replace your mufflers.

Here's a link to a boatload of Mustangs with glasspacks. None of them actually convey just how LOUD they really are for some reason.

They are an acquired taste, but if you want it loud they are the way to go. I love them;

On other people's cars.

+1 on other peoples cars. It wears on you after awhile. Its fun in the beginnning but after awhile a 15 minute drive can begin to get annoying. My truck was so loud you talked with a vibration in your voice as if someone was pounding on your chest. It was like that even when the exhaust was far behind the cab and it had alot of ground clearance with a 4" lift and 35" tires. But it was really fun to rev the engine and set off every car alarm in the parking lot and people always knew when I got to work, no sneaking in for me if I was late.
